Chicago! |
Last November my mother, my brothers fiancé, me, and Leslie (an exchange student from Mexico living in our home) went on our first shopping trip to Chicago. I fell in love with the city. I live in a small town, and this was my first shopping/weekend trip to a nice city. I surprised myself with how much I enjoyed it. My feet ached after the first day because of how much we walked, but the fun we had proved its worth. I actually plan on living in a city for a few years now, just for the experience. I could only live there for a few years thought, because I enjoy fresh air, silence, and woods which the city does not provide.
During my trip, I found it strange that the items were so expensive. I fought the urge of becoming materialistic. I felt guilty spending $40 on a new purse, yet there were $4,000 Louis Vuitton shoes that people were buying. It was crazy.
The reason I found this so strange was because there were homeless people everywhere. I can think of 4,000 different and better ways of spending $4,000.
